Scott Barnstead, Ed.D. Fannin County High School Band Director
Dr. Scott Barnstead is in his 19th year at Fannin County High School and in his 29th year of teaching. He also assists at Fannin County Middle School.
Dr. Barnstead has a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) in Music Education from the University of Georgia, a Master's degree from Northwestern University in Trombone Performance, and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Furman University.
Dr. Barnstead has previously served on the music faculty at Lander University and Young Harris College and taught High School and Middle School Band in South Carolina. In addition to his duties at Fannin County High School and Middle School, Dr. Barnstead is the director for WXFC, 92.7FM, an FCC licensed radio station run by the Fannin County Board of Education. He is also a member of the Tri-State Community Band as a musician and conductor. Current professional affiliations include the Georgia Music Education Association, The National Band Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the Georgia Chapter of Phi Beta Mu.
